Last night a bear stopped by our Creating Memories cabin parking lot to conduct what appeared to be a very thorough inspection of the guest vehicles.

After a brief security review, he determined: ✅ No picnic baskets visible✅ No snacks left in the cars✅ Management standards acceptable

He then clocked out and continued his evening patrol.
We tell our guests the cabin comes with mountain views, fresh air, and occasional wildlife. Apparently this bear took that as an invitation to stop by and check occupancy levels himself!
Have you ever had a surprise visitor during your Smoky Mountain vacation?

Follow-up on our injured bear visitor:I spoke with the Tennessee wildlife officials, and I was surprised by what I learned. They told me that black bears are incredibly resilient and often recover from leg injuries on their own without human intervention. In fact, they frequently see bears with significant injuries return to full health in the wild. Because of this, they typically do not step in unless the bear is unable to survive on its own or poses a public safety concern. Hopefully, our bear friend continues to heal and is back to full strength soon! 🐻

🏔️ Only in the Smokies!
This black bear took a leisurely walk by our putt-putt course at our Campfire Memories Cabin, reminding us that we are surrounded by some of the most beautiful wildlife in Tennessee.

These unexpected encounters are part of what makes a Smoky Mountain getaway so special. Just remember: admire from a distance and let the bears enjoy their mountain home.
