Important Notice:

Have you booked your 2027 Smoky Mountain trip yet? Get in before the new rate hike from the booking sites goes into effect.

VRBO has instructed all owners/ hosts to increase their rates to accommodate their 12 percent commission hike to our nightly rate. Airbnb added a 15.5 percent fee per night to all vacation rental owners and asked us to raise our rates. Please get your reservations in before that occurs. Although the below email from VRBO says Oct 29th; since our yearly VRBO subscription doesn’t expire until mid January, our rates will not be effected on any future bookings made prior to January 20th 2027. So book your Spring Break, summer or holidays stays for 2027 now on our VRBO listing. We have also opened our calendar to accept future bookings for the next 18 months! Unfortunately our Airbnb listing has already added the 15.5 percent increased commission as of September.

🐻💔 Loving the Smokies means protecting the bears who live here.

TWRA says 60 bears in Sevier County—and 61 statewide—have been euthanized so far in 2026 following human-bear conflicts. Those numbers are heartbreaking. Source: WVLT

An easy meal from a trash can or an offered snack can teach a bear to return to people for food. That can put both people and bears in danger.

Whether you live here or are visiting, please:

🐾 Never feed or approach bears.
🗑️ Secure garbage in properly latched, bear-resistant containers.
🚗 Remove food and trash from vehicles, close windows, and lock doors.
🏡 Keep pet food indoors and clean up after outdoor meals.

These simple habits help prevent conflicts before they start. BearWise guidance from TWRA

The best souvenir is a memory. The best thing we can leave a bear is wild. 💚

Share this with someone planning a Smoky Mountain trip. Protecting these animals takes all of us.
