We have to take a moment to honor and wish a big Happy Birthday to the man behind the vision that we have all come to know and love. The Inn has been an oasis of peace and tranquility for so many years for so many people, and we are so grateful.

Vern Hippensteal is the epitome of husband, father and now grandfather as well as friend to many. We hope that your day has been as special as you are. 😎

Happy Halloween to all of our Hippensteal guests. 🎃

We are well into the fall 🍁 and summer seemed to be like a blur here at the Inn. We’ve been busy working on projects and maintenance and the biggest one being the tear out and replacement of the steps going to our bottom parking lot. We’ve dubbed this the grand staircase. 🤣

We couldn’t have done this project without these two young men doing the dirty job of demo and then rebuilding the puzzle pieces. Woods Hippensteal and our adopted son, Greg Lawson, put some very hot summer hours in on this project but it’s looking really good and it is very close to completion.
Thank you all who were here this summer and pardoned our progress.

With the Inn opening on October 5, 1990, these steps made it going on 33 years. I think we are confident in our over engineering of these steps that they will be good for at least 50 years and we hope for 100!

The fall air is slowly moving into these majestic mountains and you can feel the magic in the air of The Smokies and the recent color changes we are experiencing have been beautiful.

We look forward to seeing all of you who have reservations thru the end of the year and for those of you who don’t, please don’t hesitate to call and see if there are any last minute cancellations that we can squeeze you into.

Happy Independence Day to all of our treasured guests!! 🇺🇸

The dog days of summer are in full swing and things are going well at Hippensteal's Mountain View Inn!

Please remember we are on our modified schedule this month and next month. We will receive guests Thursday night thru Sunday night and close on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

But please remember us in your vacation plans. Even if you need to just stop in for one night on the way to your destination😎

Spring has sprung in the Great Smoky Mountains and summer time is upon us and we can’t wait to see you!!

For those of you who have not heard, Lisa and I have taken the Inn off of the market and it is no longer for sale. But do please keep in mind our new schedule while planning your stays with us.

To help us enjoy a “semi-retired” state and give the staff a much needed break, we will receive guests in the months of June, July, August, December, February & March from Thursday to Sunday night and be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
With our normal schedule of seven days a week in the months of April, May, September, October & November.
