𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫: 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Tennessee Division of Forestry has issued a HIGH fire danger for Sevier County. Residents and visitors are urged to refrain from burning due to dry conditions, low humidity, and increased winds.

Important Information:
• No burn permits will be issued in Sevier County today. Residents within city limits should contact their local fire department for burn permit information.
• Refrain from burning debris. Current conditions can cause fires to spread quickly, even when they appear controlled.
• Burning without a valid permit between October 15 and May 15 is a violation of state law and may result in penalties.

Residents and visitors are asked to use extreme caution with any outdoor fire source. Properly dispose of ci******es and matches, avoid activities that may create sparks, and keep vehicles off dry grass.

If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
