Jake, Pops, and I have experienced rainy mornings, appreciating the serene beauty of overcast and cloudy mornings. We found The Rock Church Sunday and worshipped together

We bowled on a rainy day( He beat me in 2 games due to his strikes ). I am a terrible bowler and made them put up the child bowling rails up for me! That way I can score more than 0!! In pool, I tend to viciously attack the pool ball, resulting in our very first pool injury at the cabin. Ouch.

Yesterday the boys deserted me to go to Splash Country. Yay!! So I went to the glorious and amazing Quiltfest at the Leconte Event center. Loved it!

Today the bluebirds are going crazy, fighting for territory in the trees and a quail visited. We have had numerous visits of young mama bears in past months, so waiting for a curious one to come by. They show up sometimes when customers are in the cabin so they don’t even see them! As in all National Park parking areas, bears will try to open car doors and scavenge for food. Never ever leave leftover food, pizza boxes, coffee or hamburgers, fry wrappers in your car!!

A beautiful area and bears are often found eating in this area. You can hike many trails off Roaring Fork Rd. We have hiked Grotto Falls trail and Rainbow Falls trail. Grotto is one of our favorites!!

The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a one-way road that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the lush, biodiverse forest of the Smoky Mountains from the comfort of their vehicles. This scenic route not only showcases the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains but also provides opportunities to stretch your legs and explore historic sites and pull-offs. The area's name is inspired by the exuberant Roaring Fork, one of the park's larger and faster-flowing mountain streams.
