June is a magical month at Shearwater Cove. The landscape is bursting with vibrant green growth, the marine life is active, and with over 18 hours of daylight, there is no need to rush.

Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful mom 💕.

Her love and bubbly, adventurous spirit is infused in Shearwater Cove through her love for the natural world and her unending support for me and Jason. If you ever need a reminder of how to slow down and rediscover wonder for the greenest green moss, the wildest jagged rock, or the coolest intertidal creature, she's your lady.

She knows how to unplug and immerse in nature's wild beauty. Looking through these photos, it's pretty clear where I got it from and why I ended up doing something like building Shearwater Cove.

Thank you mom for always being there and showing me what's important in life. Jason and I love you!

Honestly, she's a bit needy - constantly demanding we spend time with her and take her picture - but we think she's worth it. 😉

Before the yurts, before the dock, before guests arrived from around the world… there was just a wild cove, a big idea, and a lot of figuring things out as we went.

This is the story of how Shearwater Cove began.
