Shamokin Moose Family Center As a primary mission of the Shamokin Moose, our members support Mooseheart Child City & School. Welcome to The Shamokin Moose Lodge 1149!

An International Organization of Men and Women Dedicated to Caring for Young and Old, Bringing Communities Closer Together, and Celebrating Life. In our Shamokin Moose Family Center, you will find a wide array of activities to participate in both as an individual and as a family. The Moose is about celebrating life together, serving those in need within our local community, supporting our children

at Mooseheart. Mooseheart is a residential childcare facility, located on a 1,000-acre campus 38 miles west of Chicago. The Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school. Thanks for joining with us and supporting our program of caring for kids, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life! You will, in fact, make a difference! Happy Solstice!!!
Winter (Dec., Jan., Feb.) is nearly 1/3 OVER! Today is the beginning of increasing daylight!!! The sun is only about 25 degrees above the horizon at Noon today (its lowest). We start going up now (See diagram below).
Longer days, more energy, renewed life and eventually warmer temps begin!

Today is a celebratory victory and our ancestors thousands of years ago knew it!

All of the modern religious celebrating that occur this time of the year are rooted in the ancient solstice celebrating!!!

It's for every life form on planet earth and it's wonderful!
Light over darkness!!!
