Clara’s Canal House

Nestled on the banks of the Potomac and canopied by a centuries old forest, you’ll find Clara’s. Built in 1790, this beautiful stone home stands only a few yards from the C&O towpath bike trail near mile marker 81 in Sharpsburg. Clara and her husband Peter greet weary trail users with home style hospitality. We are not a fancy B&B. Your bike and hiking boots are welcome here. Clara’s offers a clean comfortable stay at the very affordable price of $75.00 per room. (Not per person) Both guestrooms are on the 1st floor. The General has a queen bed and the Stowaway offers a twin trundle.

Whether you’re a trail user, history buff or just looking for a place to unplug, Clara’s is the answer!
