We had a great time helping out with owl & kestrel boxes with the Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership!

Owls & kestrels are a FAR better choice to control rats, voles, & mice, than barn cats.

Outdoor 🐈 kill BILLIONS of birds EVERY YEAR, in case you wondered why we don’t have woodcock or quail, & why many songbirds are disappearing (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/faq-outdoor-cats-and-their-effects-on-birds/).

A barn owl family will remove about 3500 rodents per year.
Kestrels take the “day shift” devouring mostly insects, with additions of small rodents & the occasional slow songbird.

Water belongs to all of us.

The Potomac River basin is on track to have 1,200 data centers, totaling 200 million square feet of buildings on an estimated 20,000 acres of land. With such rapid expansion of these massive facilities, it raises serious concerns over the impact these water hungry centers can have on water quantity and quality — and even helped the Potomac earn the #1 spot on Most Endangered Rivers list this year!

AirB&B (& several other large tech companies, including this app) went from a great idea, to ensh*ttification engines.

Our property is close to 3 National Parks, & AB&B won’t put us in that category, though places 50 miles from national parks, are.

Large investors now buy up distressed properties, slap on paint, install a cheap hot tub, & underpay locals to do the bare minimum, to keep it open.
This drives up housing prices.

Last year, AB&B instituted a 15.5% surcharge on hosts not exclusive to AB&B. Large concerns can expense it. Single property locals, have to raise their own surcharge, to pay loans, insurance, supplies, upkeep.

AB&B board member J. Gebbia participated in DOGE, decimating Federal employment, uprooting important research, & deeply damaging the service economy, as well as Federal integrity, at no cost savings whatsoever, to the US taxpayer.

Why would you do business, with an ensh*ttification engine? AI just seems to be speeding it all up.

Go with local businesses, please.
Keep money in communities, not in broligarch pockets.
