"Mount Shasta KOA is a perfect destination if you are planning on exploring the area. The camp is very clean and the staff is very friendly. There is a pool that was empty, but I am told will be full ny Memorial weekend and throughout the summer. There is a small playground for the kids and a enclosed pet area with several doggie stations strategically placed throughout the park. There are restrooms with showeres and a laundry. And the store has some of your basic necessities in case you forgot something. The downtown has several places to eat and two grocery stores. Close by is Siskyou Lake, Castle Lake and great hicking trails. One more thing, this KOA has both RV spots and over 100 tent sites including small group sites. And the really cool thing is Mt. Shasta in the background.
