Just wondering if there’s a thing that a farm can “board” cows pigs goats chickens for people sort of like they do for horses??

We have land for the animals and we are here everyday caring for animals already but we don’t have the money for the upfront costs or for the feed or vet bills they would require right now.

With the price of meat going up maybe we could work with a small group of people who wanted to cost share or have us board your animals for you.

It would have to include a legal contract protecting everyone.

In return for our boarding the farm animals we would get a percentage of the meat not a monthly cost like with horses.

What do you guys think about this? Could it be possible?
If you are interested please let us know!

I would love to hear from other farmers in the area too on how they manage costs associated with animals.

Our neighbor leases out their land and someone brings his cows to graze. That set up is much larger. Ours would have to be smaller scale with cows.

On the farm I harvested some wild muscadines(awesome to discover!), concord grapes, autumn olive berries, elderberries and Polk berry. I’m gonna freeze the elderberry and autumn olives to make jam with later. I’m gonna make ink out of the Polkberries. I’m gonna eat the grapes and muscadines lol if yall want any of it just holler.
It’s a blessing and dream come true to walk around in the yard and find food plentiful and free.

Hi everyone it’s Jessica from Triple J in Shelby NC! Flower Stand is stocked! Zinnea, verbena, scabiosa, stock, yarrow, calendula, snapdragons, marigold, gomphrena, ageratum, dianthus, cosmos, bee balm, salvia, black eye Susan.

All grown from seed by me. I started in January with seed trays heat mats and plant lights. I never expected so many seeds to come to life!! Everyday I played classical music for them so they would grow extra pretty. I’ve never really tried to grow flowers before so I think I’ve done a pretty good job for year one.

Last week I put four bunches of flowers out and they were stolen. I was so sad about it but I was like well at least someone wanted them. Since the start of the season I have put out about 20 bunches. I have sold one lol and four stolen. And that’s ok! I know it will take time to build a customer base. The best thing I can do is be consistent and keep flowers out there and people will come.

Every flower is organic and locally grown. You cannot buy a lot of these flowers at the grocery or wherever else. Some were given with love to me by other gardeners.

We are located at the roundabout on North Lafayette Street. Feel free to pull in the driveway and grab a bouquet on your way home. There’s a cash box or you can scan and pay by Cash App or Venmo. Thank you for supporting a local farm!!

And while I’m on the subject of flowers I want to say for whoever needs to hear this that even if everyone around you tells you your dreams aren’t worth following don’t listen. It’s your vision not theirs that’s why they can’t see what you see. Press on and keep fighting for your dream life and one day it will happen. Hard work always pays off. 💕-Jessica

First flower stand of the year! Chanter-Cedo Apricot Stock, Strawflowers, Bells of Ireland, Calendula, Bachelors Button, Snapdragon and Gompherna are all coming out for summer! More bouquets will be available soon! Each bouquet is $20. I have some silk flowers to add abundance. Those are priced individually.
