We are starting to get Memorial Day bookings! So... besides camping and good barbecue, that means that the annual gnome hunters need to study the Lantern's maps and get familiar with the property. The gnomes are getting crabby and reclusive, harder to find... But the gnome's pot of money to win just gets bigger with more hunters. Dust off your running shoes or hiking boots.

Progress on the "Lost Cabin", hoping for it to be complete next season:) This cabin will hopefully have a winding forest path to walk down to reach it. Using a cart to haul supplies and luggage.

We have Spring in mind! On the agenda: oil and prepare the resort's meat smokers & BBQ for guest use, amend the soil in the resort's orchard and garden with the help of Bagley Co-op (thank you all), plant more trees, continue landscaping the 4 new RV sites down by the lake (they are so pretty) we are going to try to make beautiful peeled log barriers to protect venue areas so hopefully it works out well, and check out how the new swing set made it through the winter. Last year's awful storm wrecked our last playground, like so many other people we will be cleaning up trees for years! The new bath/shower-house is fully functional for guest use too! The list is very long but we are excited to start the year with goals and updates!

Looking forward to Spring but we loooove winter. For the bits of Winter we have left, we hope everyone makes the best of it. Cocoa and cider always helps:)

New forest RV sites available for Memorial weekend with forested lake views, water, picnic table, and a fire pit:) Also got a basketball hoop up today and more changes are in the works! Smokers and BBQs coming too!

Hey everybody! We've been expanding! Since COVID began, we started building... We listened to the needs of our guests and have been working towards RV sites in the forest, more usable/accessible venues and parts of the forest, lower venue prices for affordable graduations, weddings, and reunions, installed water hydrants, electricity, BBQ grills and outhouses in picnic/venues areas so guests can cook for themselves, and created a venue that overlooks little Berg Lake for small parties & weddings. We have also begun construction on a shelter/shower house by the RV sites that may be open by 2024. Black Lantern crew is so excited to update all of our guests and the local community! Hoping to see more smaller groups visit from the community. Thank you to all the guests that have supported us, you guys mean the world to us and make our little world go around. We work hard to be better for you guys every year. Lots of love- The Black Lantern Crew

The Alida Country Store right down the road from Black Lantern has reopened and we are so excited to send our guests there for a small town county store experience! Set at the dining table and visit with the locals or other patrons and slow down and enjoy. They are also rekindling the hunting chili cook off with the Bear Creek Fire Department in Alida! So glad to see the country store back, please visit them, show your support and come for the chili cook off!
