No movement yet in our turtle nests! Since turtles often hatch at night, we may only know they've hatched by seeing their tiny tracks and seeing a depression in the sand where the nest was. An amazing fact - adult female sea turtles return to lay their eggs on the same beach where they were born!

Come visit us and you may be able to see this amazing event in person on our private beach! Turtle season runs through October 31st, and we still have some of our gorgeous units available - just give us a call to book!

Today is the official first day of summer and the summer solstice, the day with the most daylight hours of the year. The sun will set around 8:30, so you’ll have even more time to enjoy our gorgeous private beach and our amazing sunsets!

It’s very busy at Siesta Sun Beach Villas! We are replacing our roof, and the crews are working almost non-stop this week in very warm conditions (especially when one is up on a roof)!

We have another turtle nest! and many other nests are marked as you wander up and down the beach. Our turtle-friendly lights are on by the beach area as bright white lights can disorient turtles. It will take about 45-60 days for the turtles to hatch.

The beach is perfect - come visit us this summer and maybe you’ll see some baby turtles hatch! 🐢

Sea Turtle nesting season in FL runs from May 1st through October 31st and we are very excited that we have a nest on our private beach at Siesta Sun Beach Villas! 🐢

Below are some guidelines during turtle nesting season.

* Keep beaches dark at night. Avoid flashlights, phone lights, flash photography, and bright beachfront lighting (we have special lighting during turtle season).

* Fill in holes and flatten sandcastles before leaving because hatchlings and adult turtles can get trapped.

* Stay away from nests. Our nest is clearly marked off with stakes and pink tape.

* Do not touch eggs or hatchlings.

* Give turtles space. If you see a nesting turtle, stay quiet and at least 50 feet away. Never surround or shine lights on her.

* Dispose of trash properly. Plastic bags, fishing line, and food waste are dangerous to turtles.

This is very exciting for all of us at Siesta Sun and we will keep you all up to date!
