About Big Boy:

Legendary Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014—the world's largest operating steam locomotive—will cross the spectacular Genesee Arch Bridge (Portageville Bridge) in Letchworth State Park on June 11, 2026. The historic train is scheduled to pass over the bridge at approximately 12:20 PM.

Best Vantage Points: The Genesee Arch Bridge towers 235 feet above the gorge. Viewing locations near the Castile entrance of the park and areas overlooking the Upper Falls will be highly sought after.

Best Local Accommodations: Silverlaken Estate on Silver Lake

Park Access: Because of the massive crowds expected for this historic "Coast to Coast" tour, park officials advise visitors to arrive early and book accommodations in advance.

After living overseas and seeing glampsites there, Mike was inspired to bring those elements back to Wyoming County. Today, he’s developed a wide variety of tiny homes, campers, and tents here at Silverlaken – just 10 minutes from Letchworth State Park!
