A quick walk-through of White Birch Nest—
but really… it’s not just bedrooms—
this is basically a Northern Michigan itinerary in house form.

Each room is themed to the only things worth leaving the house for 😉:

• M22 Game Room – the stretch of road you take when you’re not in a hurry and somehow it becomes the best part of the drive up North

• Point Betsie Lighthouse Room – take a Tour, climb to the top and experience Lake Michigan waves like it was the ocean it thinks it is!

• Crystal Lake Room – water so turquoise it doesn’t feel real until you’re staring at it

• Arcadia Bluffs Golf Room – the kind of course people plan entire trips around

• Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Room – the climb you question halfway up… and never regret when it’s over

• Yellow Perch Fishing Room – early mornings on the water where time always moves a little slower

• Crystal Mountain Room – ski days that turn into stories you tell all year

• Michigan Sunset Room – the nightly ritual you didn’t know you needed (and don’t even need to leave the house for)

It’s a date weekend to our Michigan property (if I call it that it sounds better)!
Between our kids sports, work and guest stays…every property needs attention and White Birch Nest needs some semblance of a glow up. But we just got here and before she gets her glow up…it’s the sky’s turn!

Summer is the BEST season in the mountains!
🛶 Alpine Lakes
🚴 Cycling up here is INSANE
🥾 Endless hiking trails
🍺 Patio dinners in the fresh air

I don’t need much…

…Just that crisp morning air as you swiftly fly by Lake Dillon on that early morning ride.

Stillness at night, in the hot tub, with stars for days in its lack of light pollution.

Open space to hike through the National Forest and take in views of the town below.

And a vacation house big enough for everyone to use as their home base.

Summer in the mountains isn’t loud.
It’s grounding.

when you have a vacation rental near a ski resort! ❄️

Watching all this cold and snow roll in like… please, please find your way to the Rockies 🤞
For skiers, boarders, snowshoers, and every winter sport kid-at-heart, fresh snow in Colorado feels like Christmas morning.

That said—my heart is with the states less prepared for what’s coming. Snow is magical in the mountains, but it’s no joke elsewhere. And Ice, now that’s just becoming quite the bad word all around, isn’t it!

Here’s hoping SNOW lands where it’s needed most:
✨ in the high country
✨ on the peaks
✨ fueling a safe, snowy winter season

The Nest Collective Christmas Vacation:🎄 Our “Vacay Vlog” series begins. 🌺

Come join us, your hosts, on our own lil vacay!

Our family has been trialing gifting “experiences” over “things” the last 3 years, and this year we tried to keep the location of the trip a surprise until the night before we left.
It didn’t quite make it…slip up on a cell phone open tab days before the reveal. 😭😭

PIVOT…

I scrambled to create new anticipation and a doctor I work with said her parents did scavenger hunts when she was little and they were always so fun. ✨
I heard…core memory maker…

So, enter stage left—“Adventure Day” clues.
Four clues per adventure.
The first clue was handed to them by a flight attendant ✈️ 😉
Each rhyme hinted at the next experience, with last couplet for clues to next hiding space…
(They seemed to like it. I questioned my poetry skills 😂)

Day 1 = Christmas Eve in Hawaii
First night energy is always high, so a luau felt like the perfect kickoff—
music, culture, food, and that “we’re really, actually in Hawaii” vibe 🌺🔥

Since we were absolutely on a budget, we clearly couldn’t do a big experience every day for a week, so I created a bingo card for the “Island Days”, I’ll get into that on another post but…
Adventure Days became planned, intentional experiences.
Island Days became slow mornings, sandy feet, and that bingo card helped create a little competitive energy 😉

This is what I genuinely aim for with The Nest Collective —
homes that hold both adventure and rest,
surprise and simplicity,
togetherness and breathing room.

As we head into 2026, I’m focusing even more on this —
not just offering beautiful places to stay,
but places that help families feel something together, something curated in the details.
I wanna help my guests create memories they didn’t even know they were looking for!
