Dear Diary,
We bought another house. What could possibly go wrong? ☕️
Welcome to The Almhaus Diaries, where the ceilings are coming down, the plumbing is being replaced, the stairs are testing our patience, and the wallpaper samples are somehow keeping me emotionally stable. 😂
We closed on The Almhaus in mid-August, making this our SIXTH vacation rental renovation since 2020.
And somehow, this is the first one that’s given us this much unexpected drama.
Every time we think we’re moving forward, this mountain house seems to have another plot twist waiting for us.
Two months in, and I’ll admit, it’s taken a minute to find that familiar spark again. The kind that makes me forget about the dust, the delays, and the growing list of things not in the original budget and now potentially cutting into my “vibe” dreams.
But the design is finally taking steps forward, The purchasing has begun. The vision is becoming real.
And I’m remembering why we chose this home from and fought for it from the beginning. The exterior told a story that the inside was not doing it justice, and I want so badly to share her story with others.
Because every home has a story right? And sometimes the best stories have the messiest middle chapters.
