A couple weeks ago we took the seven year olds, Oliver and a friend, on a full moon tour. It was pretty cool.

One of the participants wrote a nice write up of his time at the Footprints Running Camp this last summer at the Lodge. I think that it’s a nice write up and has carryover to how we live in this world. He writes that instead of finding the differences we have with people, let’s look for the similarities.

Footprints Running Camp combines trail running and environmental advocacy.

Not the greatest video… but this highlights the decades long work that is the St. Paul tailings/mine dump. Flowers, grass, and not in the video, trees… all growing in mine waste. Working to reclaim and change one of the many human scars in the San Juans. And just a nice pond with a dog.

Last Sunday we checked in camp to the lodge. A large group of like minded, fun loving, and focused group of runners to set explore their socially conscious and climate change projects and the San Juan’s. It was my pleasure and sheer delight to be able to hang out, chat and listen for a day and a half to these fine folks. More to come from a very busy, fun week at the lodge. Thanks and many more for supporting footprints. Thanks for reaching out and making it happen. And finally to for amazing food, I can’t wait until next time.

Good day to start a 100 mile race. Good luck to all the runners! Have a fantastic day in the mountains. In a pre-race interview, last years winner, when talking about his top competition, ”well I hope we have a good day in the mountains together.” Not racing, not competing, just having a good day up high. Also maybe some future hard rockers in the making…?

A dog was spotted having lots of fun in the snow. Said dog is planning on having lots of fun at the lodge, in snow and up in the mountains for years to come. Welcome Isa (Isabella) to your first time at the lodge.
