We’re excited to welcome Ava Cleaver as the new Director of Sales at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Omaha West! Ava brings nearly five years of hotel experience, working her way from the front desk to Assistant General Manager before joining the KAJ team.

🏨 Could you give a history on some of your hotel background?
I was with my last property for almost five years. I fell in love with the industry at the front desk and worked my way up to AGM.

🏡 Where is your hometown?
Missouri Valley, IA.

🎬 What is your favorite movie/TV show?
My favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

🌮 What is your favorite food?
Birria.

🎨 What is your favorite hobby?
I enjoy writing, cooking, and art.

It’s been a busy few weeks for the KAJ Hospitality teams, with plenty of opportunities to connect, celebrate, and give back!

✈️ TBEX Fargo — The KAJ team proudly represented its properties while connecting with travel and tourism professionals from across the country and showcasing what “Being Here for People” means.

🏨 Home2 Suites Gillette Grand Reopening — The team celebrated the newly renovated hotel and the hard work that went into bringing everything together. 🎉

💜 Walk to End Alzheimer’s — Gillette — KAJ leadership also came together to support an important cause and the families and individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s. 👟

🌟 Meet the Leader: Leah Monahan! 🌟

With more than two decades of experience in hospitality, Leah’s career journey has taken her through accounting, financial reporting, and leadership across a variety of hotel brands. Today, she brings that experience and expertise to KAJ as our Senior Accountant. 📊✨

Outside of work, Leah loves spending time with family and friends, hosting dinner parties with her fiancé, planting flowers, shopping, and getting lost in a good book. 🌸📚

Her favorite getaway? Isla Mujeres, Mexico! 🏝️ From sandy toes and a drink in hand to discovering the island’s many local restaurants, it’s easy to see why this foodie paradise has a special place in her heart.

One of Leah’s favorite KAJ memories so far was helping with KAJ Cares during Easter, putting together Easter baskets for children at Children’s Home Society. 💙

And when asked “Why people?”, Leah says she loves the variety of personalities in hospitality and being part of a team that wants to make a positive impact on everyone they serve and meet.

We’re so glad to have Leah as part of the KAJ family! 💙
