There was no shortage of play in Burnett County through our time spent there! You’ll see scenes from our very own music festival Rock the Construction Site, two 4th of July weekends, lake swims, a paddle down the Yellow River, a place for the girls to ride their bikes (!! They don’t have easy access to that at home) and our very own fairy tree!! 😄

I was at the property for a tiny fraction of the amount of time Corey was there. When Corey was there he was typically alone and typically HUSTLING in order to get back (2hours home) in time to get the girls from school. Therefore, the number of machines in this video aren’t nearly the amount actually used, but are the trusty few that came along for big portions of the build. Sound on for construction ASMR 😆😵‍💫

Can you tell why we instantly fell in love with this piece of land? The white and red pines here are remarkably tall! We were able to thin out dead and dying trees and let in so much more sun to reach the very healthy, very tall trees. Watching how the land changes through the seasons was a real treat 🥰

We have to give a huge shout out to our girls! They made quick work of exploring this property. They made a structure out of branches- complete with a patio, had a bakery with mud pies and sludge coffee in one corner, secret hideouts in others. They marched backwards and forwards through these woods countless times. They created a band here, made stages and instruments out of construction materials and performed many impressive shows! They taught the dog tricks, found treasures, created treasures and truly made these trees their own. Not to mention all the countless cold and/or rainy days they brought their good attitudes and smiles. They spent two summers and many, many weekends and school breaks getting to know this place, learning the ins and outs of the building process/machines/materials and did their fair share of work work and play work. We’re so proud of them! And grateful for their love of the outdoors and their willingness to participate in this project. We’re so lucky! The ability to have them on the worksite as often as possible was a non negotiable before the project even began. We hope their memories of this time reflect how much they learned, the unforgettable bond that was nurtured and the love that was poured into, what we’ve lovingly been calling, “the cabin”. 🪻LOOK WHAT WE’VE DONE!🪻

We would say we can hardly believe it, but the truth is - we lived and breathed it. Since purchasing this little piece of Earth in July 2023, we have poured our souls into this project.

We went into this experience with a simple goal - invest in something meaningful for our family, as a family.

We did it. We had a dream and we made it happen and NOW we are so thrilled to welcome you to our very own Lilac Lodge in Siren, WI.
