SISTER BAY, WI — Area trees have begun their annual transition to peak color, sources confirmed this week, in what officials are calling “the good part.”

“It starts slow. A little red here, a little gold there. Then one day the whole bluff just goes off,” said one resident, gesturing vaguely at a tree.

Forecasters warn the display is finite and, crucially, non-refundable. Analysts note that peak color and open lodging are briefly available at the same time — a window described as “narrow” and “closing.”

At press time, one tree had fully committed. The rest were thinking about it.
