The Double S Lodge is a rustic luxury hideaway located on the beautiful Door Peninsula in the village of Sister Bay, Wisconsin. We’re just a short bike’s pedal away from boutique shops, fine dining, throwback bowling lanes and watering holes, shiny sailboats, and infinite sunsets. Just down the road you’ll find succulent tree fruit to pick, fine local wines and beers to sip, and beaches that will stretch your legs and your imagination.

As we put a wrap on the 2020 season, we want to thank all of you who chose to stay with us this year. When we purchased the Lodge last October, we had so much excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season. Then spring came, along with COVID, and so much changed. We met every challenge the pandemic threw at us and feel blessed to have survived the season. Unfortunately, as we write this we still don't know when some normalcy will return to our world and to Door County.

Your decision to stay with us gave us a purpose every week to do all we could to make your stay a memorable and safe experience. It was a difficult year to run a bed & breakfast and an equally difficult year to leave the safety of your home and travel. Thank you for putting your trust in us and allowing us to serve you.

After putting quite some time, thought and prayer into this and knowing many of you are beginning to make plans for next season, we wanted to let everyone know sooner than later that we will not open for the 2021 season. There are a number of factors that went into our decision including the Covid crisis, family and work.

Despite so many positive takeaways from running the Double S Lodge, this has been a very emotional year and has reminded us, time and time again, that life and time are precious. Our immediate plans are to take the next year to enjoy Door County and determine next steps for our future.

The last weekend of the season! The past 24 weeks have been a roller-coaster of events and emotions and we feel blessed to have experienced, firsthand, the running of The Lodge. We’re grateful for everyone who chose to stay with us and thankful for all the restaurants, shops and bars that weathered through this difficult year. Door County is a special place and a worldwide pandemic can’t match up to the beauty, friendly people and all that makes this place so special. Keep an eye out for more news regarding our plans for 2021. Until then, be safe, embrace every day and thank you!
