The Sitka International Hostel is located in the historic Tillie Paul Manor, which served long and colorfully as the infirmary for Sheldon Jackson College. Over 100 years old, the Tillie Paul Manor was committed to serving as Sitka's first Community Hospital in the years following World War II. Our hostel is one block away from the water and approximately 4 blocks from the quaint downtown area of Sitka. Our hostel is close to a number of attractions including the National Historic Totem Park and museum, the Alaska Raptor Center, Sheldon Jackson College, and the Sitka Sound Science Center. Groceries can be purchased within a short walk from the hostel.

The Sitka International Hostel has closed for business. For the foreseeable future the Sitka International Hostel will be in hibernation. As a result we are not now accepting reservations. We apologize for any inconvenience which may be caused by this situation. We enjoyed leasing Tillie Paul Manor for the last dozen years or so. We will re-post on this page once we are able to begin accepting reservations again. Thank you for your interest in the Sitka International Hostel. 😔

As you are probably aware, the Sitka International Hostel provides "communal" accommodations (not suitable for quarantine). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic have converted hostel rooms to apartments for the foreseeable future. All large cruiseship travel through Southeast Alaska has been cancelled for the summer of 2021. Travel by other means will be difficult. Therefore, the Sitka International Hostel has ceased taking reservations and is presently closed to the public. We wish you a delightful winter. As you are probably aware, the Sitka International Hostel provides "communal" accommodations (not suitable for quarantine). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Governor has imposed travel restrictions on persons entering the State of Alaska. Therefore, the Sitka International Hostel has ceased taking reservations and is presently closed to the public. We wish you a delightful summer. As you are probably aware, the Sitka International Hostel provides "communal" accommodations. Due to COVID-19 the City and Borough of Sitka has extended its Disaster Declaration to May 12, 2020. Therefore, the Sitka International Hostel has ceased taking reservations until the Disaster Declaration expires or is withdrawn. We will be reassessing the situation at that time.
