Black cod, also known as sablefish, is known for its rich, buttery flavor and tender texture, making it one of Alaska's most sought-after fish. Another incredible species found in the waters around Sitka.

Ever wonder how we pull anchor after a day on the water?

Our crew uses an anchor-retrieval buoy system. As the boat moves forward, the anchor line runs through a ring attached to the buoy, using the buoy’s flotation to help bring the anchor to the surface.

Once it reaches the buoy, the crew can bring the line and anchor aboard with a whole lot less heavy lifting.
