• The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce presents the annual: "Hook the Hawg" Salmon Derby
Weigh in every keeper!
There will be Raffle PRIZES at the after party. Everyone who catches a fish will be entered.
The Salmon Derby begins on Thursday, March 28th at 4am at the Elochoman Slough Marina in Cathlamet, WA. The final day of the Derby on Saturday, March 30th
• You must Register for the Salmon Derby by 10am the 1st day you are planning on Fishing.
• It is required to be registered for the Derby BEFORE you catch your fish.
• There are 2 divisions: Youth – 17 and under, and Adult – 18 and older
• All Salmon weigh in between the hours of 2pm and 5pm Thursday – Saturday at the Scale located next
to the Elochoman Slough Marina Office
• All Salmon must be gilled (bled out) and gutted.
• The salmon must be weighed the day it is caught. No frozen Salmon allowed.
• Thursday and Friday we will have a cash prize winner for the Largest Fish in both Adult ($100) and
Youth ($50), judged by weight, to the ounce. In case of a tie, the prize money will
be split.
• Saturday, overall Prizes will be awarded for the largest Salmon of ALL 3 days, judged by weight, to the
ounce. In cases of a tie, they will split the Prize Money. Awards will go to the top 4 fishermen in the
adult division and the top 2 in the youth division.
