From up here it just looks like another storefront in Smithfield.

Walk through the door and it's a different world.

There's a real track inside — not a rug with some cones on it. Timed laps, a live scoreboard on the wall, corner markers, drivers leaning over the rail calling out passes. Somebody's kid takes their first clean lap and the whole room hears about it.

There's a wall of ready-to-run trucks and buggies for the people who just want to go fast today. There's a crawler course for the people who'd rather pick their way over rock and timber an inch at a time. And there's a parts wall — bearings, shocks, servos, motors, arms, hardware, tires — for everybody who found out the hard way that this hobby is really about the fixing.

Because that's the part nobody tells you. You come in for a truck. You come back for a spare axle. Six months later you're explaining gear ratios to a stranger and you own more tools than you did in high school.

We've watched grown men who "just came in with their grandson" leave with their own rig. We've watched twelve-year-olds diagnose a drivetrain problem faster than their dad. This place doesn't sort people by age. It sorts them by whether they want to go fast, go slow, or take it apart.

All three are welcome.

Antique Outlaws takes the stage Friday, September 11, bringing a mix of classic country, Southern rock, outlaw country and today’s hits to the Neuse River Amphitheater.

Come hungry! Food trucks will be on site, or make a stop at one of our downtown restaurants before heading to the amphitheater. Bring a chair, bring some friends and enjoy a FREE night of live music in Downtown Smithfield.
