One of my favorite parts of traveling is that the adventure starts long before you reach your destination... sometimes it begins at 35,000 feet.

Flying with Gulf Air, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, gave me a little preview of the region through its meals. Bahraini cuisine, like much of the Gulf, is known for flavorful rice dishes, grilled meats, aromatic spices like saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, and turmeric, along with fresh vegetables and warm breads. Most tasted pretty good. I wasn’t too fond of the desserts though, but I appreciate the culture.

Would I fly Gulf Air again?

Whew… first day back in office post Thailand and my day was nonstop.

Our Thailand group trip is officially history.

It was worth every moment.

Watching everyone experience Bangkok and Phuket, seeing friendships grow, hearing the laughter, and witnessing people step outside their comfort zones reminded me exactly why I do this.

Travel has a beautiful way of bringing people together, and I am so grateful to everyone who chooses me to be part of their journey.

It is with a heavy heart (and a plate of grits, eggs, and bacon at 5 a.m.) that I announce I have officially returned from Thailand.

The jet lag is real, my heart is still somewhere between Bangkok and Phuket, and I am currently grieving the loss of $6 massages, tropical views, and having nowhere to be.

Please respect my privacy as I navigate this difficult transition back to reality, responsibilities, and American grocery prices.

Important Update for Trusted Travelers: CDC Public Health Order

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a public health order affecting travelers who have recently been in Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), or South Sudan.

What You Need to Know:
· If you have been in Uganda, DRC, or South Sudan within the past 21 days, you may be subject to additional screening and travel procedures when entering the United States.

· Designated Airports for Arrival: If you have visited one of these countries in the 21 days before your travel to the US, your flight must arrive to a designated airport for enhanced public health measures. The currently designated arrival airports are:

§ Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Dulles, Virginia

§ Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Atlanta

§ George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston

§ John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York

· Upon arrival to the United States, please inform a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer if you have recently traveled to one of these countries.

These procedures are in place to protect public health and minimize disruptions. Please be aware that Trusted Traveler Program membership streamlines your entry process but does not exempt travelers from these public health orders, associated arrival restrictions, or screening requirements.
