Great day despite the start of the day feeling like we would have cruddy weather. Wanka Crew and Blackjack’s Captain Dave did great with their groups. Gave it everything they had to get some fish on board.

The Double Down is back in town from the last bear transport of the season. Captain Billy and Tanner decided to take the hunters fishing on the way back. Boy did they get lucky on their catch! 2 fish over 100! Great day all in All. Come Thursday all 4 crews are back in business ready to really kick this season into full gear! If you haven’t booked your seats you better call and get them before they are gone.

Great trips the last couple days! Wanka and Blackjack crews have been fishing hard. It’s been tough some days to get the good halibut size. Today’s catch was awesome. The family we had on the Blackjack scored with one really nice size halibut of about #120 and lots of fat black rockfish. Wanka crew had a few nice size halibut ranging from #15-60 today. It’s nice to start seeing the bigger ones coming in. Great job to our crew and guests!

Great day for all 3 boats that went out today. Capt David got his group in both kings and halibut today. Nice fat and healthy fish. Wanka crew had a full boat and was able to get some good size fish as well. The smaller halibut were surface feeding and could be seen following bare hooks. Pretty awesome to see! Game Changer made a special trip to take care of maintenance on an anchor on the Double Down, so they decided to fish along the way too! I mean, why not?!

Had a great time with this family today. Had to adjust the start time to make sure we could give them the best possible trip. Needless to say, it worked out perfectly! Caught limits within an hour and a half. Decided to stop by Seldovia on the way back to give them some extra time to check out Alaska. Sharing Alaska and making memories is what it’s all about.!

We are late posting yesterday’s catch. Homer crew was out catching some nice fish. Seward crew had a private boat with just two guests. They were a little worried about being new to Alaska saltwater fishing, but they caught on quick and ended up with a great catch.

We are ready to welcome guests here at the lodge this week. The decks are done and waiting for some people to enjoy them.

We have some really good weather days coming up at the end of this week! We have some available space for anybody who would like to get out fishing before the mad rush. We have seats Thursday 4th, Friday 5th, Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th, and Monday 8th all out of Homer. Seward boat also has some seats open for up to 6 people. Great day for all 4 crews. Capt Billy and Tanner are on a hunting transport this week with another group. Getting reports that 2 bear have been taken. Capt Dan is running the Game Changer for the next couple weeks until transports are over. First trip of the season for the Game Changer and they did a great job! Wanka crew had an awesome group of guys that were having a great time on the water. Blackjack crew had an awesome catch as well for these early season trips!
