World Giraffe Day 🦒
Today we’re celebrating two very special boys—Boomer and Tuzo.

Every day, we are reminded what an incredible privilege it is to spend our time with these gentle giants. Their curiosity, unique personalities, and quiet presence inspire us constantly.

One of the most rewarding parts of having Boomer and Tuzo at Wilde Manor is helping others discover just how extraordinary giraffes are. Through these experiences, we’re able to foster a deeper appreciation for giraffes and the conservation efforts needed to protect them in the wild.

On this World Giraffe Day, we celebrate Boomer and Tuzo, the joy they bring to our lives, and the opportunity to inspire others to care about the future of giraffes around the world.

💛🦒 Happy World Giraffe Day from all of us at Wilde Manor!

Wilde Wednesday was a big one!

Big day for Tuzo and Boomer! 🐾🌳

The past couple of days these two adventurers got to explore the big yard for the very first time, and they wasted no time making the most of it! From zoomies across the grass to surveying every inch of their new territory, their excitement was impossible to miss.

Watching their confidence grow and seeing them enjoy all that open space was such a joy. Safe to say the big yard has earned two very enthusiastic fans! ❤️

How it started: 😬👀 "Are we sure about this?"

How it ended: 🦒💨🌳 "BEST. DAY. EVER."

Tuzo and Boomer's first trip into the big yard was a success! 🐾❤️ Who do you think was more excited—Tuzo or Boomer? 😄

We are excited to introduce Wilde Manor’s Assistant Animal Care Manager, Thad Bowman! Originally from Colonial Heights, Virginia, Thad relocated to Myrtle Beach in 1997, where he served his community for 25 years as a full-time firefighter/paramedic. But there was something else he hoped to do one day…work with animals. “Ask my mom”, he said, “I’ve always loved animals”.

Starting in 2004, Thad started working as a part-time animal keeper and became an Animal Care Manager in 2022. In his manager role, he has upheld the highest standards of care for a wide variety of species. His hands-on leadership has helped create safe, enriching environments for both animals and the people who care for them.

Now back in Virginia, Thad wants to continue making a positive impact in the animal field,
bringing his experience, leadership, and passion to his new role while reconnecting to the area he loves.

“I’m excited to be a part of this animal care team at Wilde Manor and to assist Nick and Molly in managing an environment that is engaging, enriching, and safe for the animal ambassadors, as well as the guests.”

We are so happy to have Thad with us to care for the amazing animals that call Wilde Manor home. Make sure to say hi when you see him between routine care, food prep, and enrichment schedules!
