We had another great 4th of July boat parade. We had 6 boats participate this year. Thanks to all who participated, to the judges, to Chris Bouck for organizing, and to our amazing Jose Lake Store for hosting the parade and award ceremony.

Looking forward to a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend out on Jose Lake. Just a reminder the annual meeting is this Saturday July 4th at 10am at the Goodar Township Hall. The annual boat parade starts at 3pm at the Jose Lake Store.

Water Safety Regulations for Jose Lake
Here are just a few reminders to keep everyone safe out on the water.
1. Waterskiing, jet skiing and tubing between the hours of 10 am and 7 pm only.
2. When jet skiing or towing water skiers or tubers, operate at least 100 feet from all swimmers, anglers, and docks. THIS INCLUDES THE AREAS WHERE THE LAKE NARROWS (BY THE STORE AND BY THE ISLAND), THERE ARE NO WAKE SIGNS, AND BALLOON BUOYS.
3. Respect all swimmers and the designated swimming areas.
4. Jet skiers should NEVER cut across the path of any other watercraft.
5. EXCESSIVE SPEED of any watercraft is always dangerous and is considered reckless. Please use common sense when operating your watercrafts.
6. All watercraft must travel counter clockwise.
7. Never throw refuse in the lake or in the boat ramp area. PLEASE HELP KEEP OUR LAKE AREA CLEAN.
8. There is no parking at the lake's boat ramp.
9. Obey all rules of water safety and boating that have been established in the State of Michigan Boating Guide.

Share these regulations with any friends, family, or renters you may have who will be using the lake this summer so we can keep our lake as safe as possible. Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!

Good news from Jose Lake!

The May survey conducted by PLM Lake Management showed the lake continues to be in great shape. The treatment area we targeted last year on the large section, with the help and cooperation of nearby residents, appears to be doing exactly what we hoped—keeping Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) from re-establishing in that area.

During May's survey, only one small patch of EWM was found near the channel and boat launch on the east side of the lake. The infestation was very limited, requiring treatment of just 0.25 acres.

These encouraging results show that our monitoring and targeted treatment efforts are working. Thank you to everyone who supports these efforts and helps keep Jose Lake healthy, beautiful, and enjoyable for years to come.

If you have any questions or concerns let me know or come to the annual JLIA meeting on July 4th. Thanks!

As you enjoy the lake this summer you will see three new buoys marking the rocky shallows as you enter the large section from the channel. Although the lake level is good this year the shoals are easy to find with your prop when the water is low (speaking from experience!). Thanks to all the members of the Jose Lake Improvement Association, your support made this possible.
