Wolf Creek is getting an early start on packing in the base!
Wednesday - 14 Oct 2026 - 7:15am
We measured 1.46" of rain in the last 24 hours northwest of Pagosa Springs. I estimate that Wolf Creek Ski Area got 1-2" of slushy snow at the base and 6-8" at the top. At 7:10am Wednesday, the pass still looks wet.
The San Juan River crested at 2,330cfs at 3:15am Wednesday and has come slightly down to 2,170cfs at 6am. The Piedra River near Arboles is at 1,930cfs and still rising.
We aren't done. Bands of heavy showers, small hail, gusty winds, and lightning will continue to move through the county into Wednesday afternoon. The pass will have periods of winter driving conditions.

Wolf Creek Ski Area cam at 7am Wednesday shows an inch or two of slushy snow at the base. I estimate that 6-8" of snow has fallen at the top.
