The wildflowers are blooming, and it’s one of our favorite times to be in the mountains. Roads and trails start filling with color, and it’s a great excuse to spend a little more time outside while everything is in bloom.

If you’re planning a trip to southwest Colorado, Silver Thread Basecamp makes a great home base for exploring the area. And while you’re here, don’t rush it. Take the scenic drive, stop for the views, and enjoy the wildflowers while they’re here.

One of our favorite local stops! 🤎 If you’re exploring beyond South Fork, don’t miss La Garita Trading Post. Serving travelers since 1913, it’s known for hearty home-cooked meals, legendary burgers, fresh baked treats, and that classic Colorado trading post charm.
