🎣 The Bug Report: What’s on the Menu?👀

The weekend is crawling closer, and the bugs are officially making their move. If you’re planning your next fishing adventure, here is exactly what’s looking tasty right now:

On the Surface 🦋
Caddis / Mayflies are popping beautifully in the afternoons. If you love a visual take, keep your eyes peeled for the ripples, it’s game on.

Sub-Surface Secrets 🐛
The morning hours belong to the nymphs. Pheasant Tails and Zebra Midges are doing the heavy lifting before the sun hits the water.

Streamer Season? 🦈
If you're hunting for the local monsters, strip some Olive Woolly Buggers or Black Dungeons through the deeper pockets.

The Bottom Line: The fish are looking up, the water is clearing up nicely and gearing up for the Salmon flies to hatch and we’ve got the bins fully stocked.

Whether you need to grab a fresh dozen, pick up some fresh tippet, or just want to swap stories about the one that got away, swing on by. We’re open until 5:00pm tonight!

We’re still smiling from this weekend and honestly don’t even know how to fully thank our beloved work weekenders. Every year we shut down the B&B for a weekend in May and bust out the paint cans and ladders to tackle the bigger projects.

What you helped us accomplish in a couple of days would have taken us months on our own — from spray painting furniture and building the raised beds to spreading woodchips, sanding, staining wood, landscaping, and everything in between. (Hope your lungs are okay Amanda!)

For 25+ years, this place has been built not just by our hands, but by the love, generosity, laughter, and sweat of our amazing friends. The Arbor House wouldn’t be what it is without this community around us…without YOU.

Thank you for showing up, working hard, making memories with us, and loving this place alongside us. We are deeply grateful for each of our work weekenders. And we are definitely not going this hard again. Ever. We’re too old for this sh*t. *wink*

Our hearts (and backs!) are very full.

PS. And THANK YOU to all for supporting Calvin on fundraising for his Mongolia hockey program adventure. He leaves next week! We can’t wait to hear his travel stories.

It’s April, which means it’s off season here. The ski area is officially closed but the trails are not open or dried out just yet. Welcome to mud season in the mountains. This year we’re taking advantage of the warmer weather and getting some bigger outside projects done while we’re closed for the month of April.

The patio umbrellas went up yesterday—hope they’re tied down tight and don’t fly away. Careful, don’t get too close or we’ll put you to work! Happy spring.

Such a pretty day. (Kinda windy, but we’ll take it.)
