Hi everyone
Well, we’ve had quite the winter so far with plenty of snow and cold. Seymour house has received over two feet of snow. Karma, our rescue dog, loves it jumping through the snow rather than walking. Mr. Seymour the cat is older and stays in his kitty condo under his heater and on his pillows in the garage, only venturing out for his personal needs. Mom, me, is making various jams and researching new breakfast dishes to serve you. This week it’s peach pie jam.
We have been quiet in January, so far, but February is a pretty exciting month around here. Starting February 2nd thru 4th the Icebreaker weekend happens in South Haven, a fun event for those who love winter want to join in on the fun. Here are some of the events.
1. Ice skating at our covered skating rink.
2. A chili cook off competition
3. Cardboard Sled Races
4. A Pub slide
5. Horse drawn wagon rides
6. Ice sculpture competition
Go to the South Haven Chamber of Commerce website for details https://www.southhavenmi.com . Seymour House has decided to join in the celebration with a warm up afternoon party Saturday from 4pm-6pm.
We are offering any of our guests a $25 gift certificate for a future stay if you send us selfies of you at the Icebreaker Festival. We will use these photos on our website and page to show others how much fun you had!

Can you believe that Memorial Day is a week from yesterday! I am really looking forewaqrd to the start of the season. I have made jams and tried new recipes to try on my summertime guests. Its beautiful here. The lilac bush is starting to bloom. Hopeits our busiest yet. Patty

Welcome Spring! Well March has 2 holidays this month. For St.Paticks Day this weekend we will be celebrating with a Saterday afternoon wine and Irish HOR D"oeevers from 4pm-6pm. Saugatuck is also having several events in honor of the Irish this weekend. Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend.
We now have 40 chickens and they are producing eggs like crazy. Mike visited his parents and took 20 dozen for them to share with their friends and other family. So I am looking foreward to lots of baking and great breakfast dishes for my guests this year. I am making jam every week .

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Now I am planning our Valentines specials. I will continue our weekday special of 99$ for a non jacuzzy room and 119$ per night if you stay 2 or more nights during the week. For February we will be running a 30$ special for flowers,chocolate truffles,and wine in your room on arrival. Saterday the 13th we will have a wine and Hor D"ouevers from 4to6 pm. I learned some exciting news today, Saugatuck/Douglas is going to have a ladies only weekend the same weekend that WOW occurs in South Haven. The weekend dates are November 13-15th. To get the information on the Saugatuck/Douglas event go to www.sdladiesweekend.com. For WOW weekend in South Haven go to www.wowsouthhaven.com. Since Seymour house is 8miles from both South Haven and Douglas it is a great location for you to enjoy both events. Remember we will be offering a bottle of wine and chocolate truffles in each room that weekend and a HorD'oeuves party Saturday afternoon. This way you can some time at the inn to rest up for the evenings activities.

Its October and here comes the colors and cooler weather. Our property is especially beautiful at this time of year. We are right about 50% color now. Our new hens are laying eggs and we are really excited because they started earlier than normal and they are perfect. We are now a partner in WOW weekend in November and are planning some specials for the ladies that join us at Seymour House. Each room will have a bottle of local wine and truffles from the Chocolate Garden. We will be hosting an Hors D'oeuvres Part6y Saturday afternoon. Please join us at our country estate and be prepared to be spoiled.

April is blossoming here at the Seymour House. The grass is greener every day and the flowers are poking their heads up. The daffodils have buds. Spring is a busy time at Seymour House for Dionah and I. I am making jams and looking for new recipes and trying new breads. I have found a new bread book and its proving to be a great resource. Dionah has been spring cleaning the entire house. This weekend my son,Mike, is laying a new floor in the Patty's Garden. I am looking forward to a new season and sharing my new breads and jams.

March is here and the official start of Spring is only seventeen days away. I can't wait! I'm planning a new perennial garden around our new sign. I will be adding yellow bush roses to go with the roses in the sign.
To celebrate St. Patrick's day we will be offering Rueben sliders to our Saturday wine get together As the weather gets warmer I hope to see more of you to celebrate the return of Spring.

If you stay for 2 nights or more you can get a non-whirlpool bath room for 119.00$ or a whirlpool bath room for 129.00$. We also have a 30 dollar special of flowers, chocolate truffles and wine in your room on arrival. Valentines day from 4ppm -6pm we are serving wine and Hors D'oeuvres. Every morning we will have a special Valentines Theme breakfast. We look foreword to sharing this special holiday with you. We will be running this special for the entire month of February so Its not too late to spoil your special person.
