Guests-this restaurant is excellent and there is NO WAIT for a table most nights! 10 minute drive in downtown Bangor. BYOB and cut your dining bill in half! Win/Win!

Helpful information on dining in South Haven peak 2021:

The restaurants in South Haven are understaffed just like they are everywhere. Most restaurants will not take to go orders during their peak dining hours so if you want to go food, order and pick up early! Try dining out at our restaurants on off hours, avoiding peak times. If you are trying to get in at 7pm on Saturday night, you will need to be patient!

Clementine’s: Closed on Sundays
Three Blonds: Closed on Mondays
Kitchen 527: Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays
Gino’s East: Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays
Maria’s: Closed on Tuesdays
Taste: Closed on Tuesdays & Wednesdays
Big Boy: Closed on Wednesdays

Taste: In our opinion, the best food in town with the best variety. They are accepting reservations but they must be made well in advance for a weekend, prime time seating. You can call ahead and get on a wait list for seating. Call at least an hour before you want to eat-the wait can be 1-3 hours! They text you when your table is ready and you have 10 minutes to claim it! CLOSED TUES & WED

Other restaurants who take reservations, nearby: Hawkshead (South Haven), The Grill Room at Clearbrook (Saugatuck), Salt of the Earth (Fennville).

Just opened June 2021, The Lodge is a quick drive (2 minutes). Three Blondes Brewing, is a dining option 5 minutes away without downtown congestion.

Other Options for “To Go”: Chomp is a hot dog window on the side of Taste (Kalamazoo Street). In a pinch-this is a quick option. The Depot is a deli/liquor store by the bridge (look for red train cars), with a top chef owner! Beware of limited hours due to staffing. Julia’s on Huron Street has great salads and sandwiches and sides. Barden’s (corner of Phoenix & Blue Star) has a “Grab & Go” refrigerated section, located in their bakery area. Meijer also has decent grab and go options as well. Bob’s Meat Processing (10 minute drive) has a huge selection of marinated meats and interesting brat selection for at home grilling. They also have a “meat vending machine” right in front of Ace Hardware on Huron in town. Grab a Bakewell quiche from the dedicated Bakewell freezer at Nature’s Country Cupboard in downtown South Haven on Phoenix Street-they are the delicious. The 50’s Drive In diner on LeGrange is open Thurs-Saturday, 11am-7pm. Food served to your car by car-hops. At the shopping/dining area known as Old Harbor Village (515 Williams Street-downtown) there are some new to go options: Weller BBQ, Round Bread Sandwich Company.

Please be patient as all of the understaffed restaurants are doing their best. The employees who show up every day deserve our patience and gratitude.
