Located one of the islands in Boothbay Harbor, this home has been a part of the family since 1984, the culmination of many summers that Mom and Dad dedicated to getting for our own a little taste of heaven of earth. Dad and Aunt Mary spent their childhood summers on the other side of the harbor in Linekin Bay throughout the 1930s and 40s. There are three bedrooms downstairs which share a bathroom
with shower. One of the bedrooms, though, has been converted into a permanent chapel. Upstairs is an open kitchen and living room along with the master bedroom and full bathroom. Tall wooden ceilings and windows facing South to the ocean make it a nice place to rest... when you can't be outside on the deck, which wraps around the Southern and Western sides of the house. The view is incredible and there is always a breeze, since the cottage is atop a rocky perch. Squirrel Island, Damariscove Island and all the boat traffic in between there and Cape Newagen, make for a pretty spot to observe life. The Cuckolds Lighthouse keeps watch three miles to the South. Ospreys, cormorants, seagulls, great blue herons and sea ducks abound. Seals make an occasional appearance. A considerable distance below the deck is the only private dock on the eastern half of Pig Cove, hence the unofficial name of this destination: East Pig Cove Yacht Club. The island itself used to be known at Pig Cove Island.
