Today, Tennessee feels a little quieter. 💔
Dolly Parton was so much more than a country music legend. She was a storyteller, a dreamer, a businesswoman, a philanthropist, and a woman who never forgot where she came from. From the mountains of East Tennessee, she built a life that reached millions of people around the world and somehow still made each of us feel like she was one of our own.
She taught us that you can be glamorous and humble, successful and kind, larger than life and still have the biggest heart in the room. She gave us songs that will never grow old, laughter when we needed it, and a legacy of giving that will continue long after today.
For generations, Dolly has been a piece of Tennessee. A piece of Appalachia. A piece of home.
So tonight, we’ll turn up the music, sing a little louder, and remember the woman who reminded us to dream big, work hard, love deeply, and never be ashamed of where we came from.
