These little bunkhouses sat empty for nearly 15 years… and now they're welcoming guests again! 🏕️

We wanted to keep everything we loved about their rustic charm while making them cozy, comfortable, and affordable for families who want the camping experience without hauling all the gear.

We were looking for an operating campground we could make our own. Instead, ChatGPT led us to 100 overgrown acres and a campground that had been abandoned for nearly 15 years.

But we saw more than an overgrown property. We saw a place where kids could spend their days exploring the creek, families could gather around campfires, and memories could be made year after year.

It wasn’t exactly what we’d planned, but it became something we couldn’t wait to build.

And that’s how Stillwaters Creek began.

Follow along as we turn this once-forgotten campground into the place families look forward to coming back to year after year.

We had officially opened Stillwaters Creek… so naturally, something else had to go wrong.😂

Looking back, we really thought getting the campground open would mean the biggest projects were behind us.

Not quite.

In this episode, we were making the final push on the bunkhouses, getting the Mercantile stocked with Stillwaters gear, finishing a few last details at the pavilion and exploring some of the tent camping areas tucked back in the woods.

And then another sewer problem showed up. 💩🤦‍♀️

After bringing a campground that had sat abandoned for nearly 15 years back to life, we were quickly learning that opening wasn't the finish line—it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

We were no longer just restoring Stillwaters Creek. We were learning how to actually RUN it.
Now that we're a few months into welcoming guests, it's pretty fun to look back at these early days and see how far we've come.
