🏕️ Come Visit the Little Mountaineer Hideaway at the Folk Festival! 🏕️
Join us Sept. 11 at 3:00 PM, Sept. 12 at 9:00 AM and Sept. 13 at 9:00 AM at the
Recreation Hall for a weekend full of Appalachian traditions, family fun, and old-fashioned mountain activities!
We’ll have something happening all weekend, including:
🐓 Homestead Habitat – Come on, let’s dive into the native animals in our neck of the woods! See pelts and skulls, meet live animals, and learn about local wildlife.
🎻Traditional Appalachian Dancing – Come listen to folk music, learn some Appalachian dances, and join us for a dance party
🪕Folk Stories Around the Fire – Gather around and enjoy Appalachian stories, legends, and tall tales.
🌽 Corn Husk Dolls – Decorate your own corn husk doll while learning this traditional craft.
🐄Butter Making – Learn how butter was traditionally made and try your hand at making your own!
🍂Potholder Weaving – Join Julie Graham for a demonstration and learn how you can make your own potholders at home.
👵Cranky Ladies Ventriloquism – Come enjoy some laughs and a fun-filled show for the whole family!
🏓🏏Appalachian Games ALL WEEKEND!
Kids and adults can try their hand at old-fashioned games like Ball in a Cup, jump rope, spinning tops, and more!
🍿AND FREE POPCORN!
🍿We’ll be serving up FREE popcorn starting 5:00 PM Friday until supplies run out!
