Robert Johnson, former camper, junior counselor, counselor, and program director at Decision Hills, and a summer as the site manager at Ko-Wa-Kan is starting his 3rd year as Camp Director at Camp Esquagama. They reached a milestone this past summer, first with 500 youth attending their summer programs, but also passing the American Camp Association accreditation program for the FIRST time. Congratulations Robert!

First Sunday worship by the new stewards of Decision Hills. I(Kurt Johnson) and my wife CheriAnne Davis-Johnson attended. Wore my DHC t-shirt, CheriAnne wore her DHC fleece jacket. Met people, told stories, answered questions. Was AWESOME to see the activity of 400+ people there.

Decision Hills starts it's new mission as the campus of The Open Door Christian Church, New London, MN, this Sunday, September 10, at 10:30. Please lift them up in your prayers, that they are blessed in their transition to Decision Hills as so many of us have been in our experiences there. They've been hard at work cleaning, painting, moving, etc., for the last month.

Decision Hills will be returning to a place of ministry and life changing moments, but not as a property of the UMC. Open Door Church of New London purchased the property earlier this week and will be relocating its ministries to this amazing place. While my heart is heavy, it's been too long since it has served as a place young and old can gather under the stars on Meditation Hill to contemplate God's plans for their lives. Keep in prayer those whose hearts are heavy and for those who prepare to continue the sacred work this land was intended to be used.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Conference closed on a $2.5 million sale of Decision Hills Camp in Spicer, which has been on the market for nearly three years. The buyer, Open Door Christian Church, will move to this larger facility.

Hey everyone, a DHC'er, Robert Johnson, is running Camp Esquagama, up on the Iron Range. Camp starts in a week and they still need a cook. Anyone need a summer job for several weeks in the Northwoods?

I had a dream last night. I was standing on the deck of Bent Twig, the waterfront was packed, and the air was filled with the sounds of campers enjoying themselves. I went inside, thinking "yeah, they should see this!", and turned to the stove that was cranking away with food for everyone.

While it breaks our hearts to have DHC on the market, I have to give credit to the realtor who put together this beautiful video. Never had the opportunity to see DHC from this perspective.
