This celebrated Northwoods tradition brings together anglers, families, and local communities to officially kick off fishing season in Wisconsin. The Governor and other state officials will be on the water, and on Saturday, May 2, Lake Hayward Beach hosts Family Fishing Day — complete with kid-friendly activities, lessons, giveaways, and plenty of fish stories in the making.

Looking for a reason to plan a spring getaway up north?

Mark your calendar for April — the annual Jacks Are Wild: Food & Wine Tasting Benefit returns to The Burch Barn in Spooner.

Hosted by the Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce, this event is the perfect blend of local flavor and community spirit. Guests can enjoy tastings from regional restaurants, food vendors, and wineries, plus local craft beer, live music, raffles, and a silent auction — all for a great cause.

✨ Last year’s proceeds benefit Winged Freedom Raptor Hospital of Spooner, a 100% volunteer organization rescuing and rehabilitating injured eagles, owls, and hawks across northwestern Wisconsin. Each year a non-profit is chosen to benefit.

It’s a night that celebrates local talent, local tastes, and local heart — all just minutes from Island View Lake Home.
