Hello friends and family. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who died fighting for our freedom. Please take a moment to pray to God thanking Him for all He has given us including the country in which we live. This day has been set aside in Memorial for those who died serving in the US Armed Forces. Let us not forget any of those martyrs who stood for FREEDOM and were willing to give their life for it. Yes they are freed from their earthly life all given so we may live free. God Bless them all. Come out and have a picnic for a day or the whole weekend. We still have a good number of tent sites. RV sites with full connections are scarce but if you desire to dry camp in your RV we have space for that. Call us. We hope to see you soon. May God Bless YOU!

It is still dry here but nature from the cosmos will be shining down on us in a couple weeks. We are offering day passes and suggest you come early for this rare event.

Over the next six months, Texas will be the only state to witness not one, but two solar eclipses!
In just about two weeks, there will be an annular solar eclipse on Oct. 14, 2023, and the total solar eclipse is happening on April 8, 2024!

“We’re lucky that this is something millions of people in Texas will be right in the pathway of, and all they have to do is walk right outside or travel not very far to see it,” -Katie Kizziar, assistant director for education and outreach at McDonald Observatory

Check out this great article from Texas Highways Magazine and make some eclipse-watching plans, Y'all!

We hope you have a safe and great Labor Day Weekend. As many would know especially those in Texas the area we are in including the counties of the headwaters of the Guadalupe River are in and have been in the most of the Severe Drought that the the government agencies can declare. Although we had some decent spring rains they were not nearly enough to recharge any underground acquifers. The Guadalupe River is fed by springs that seep and flow into the tributaries of the River. Significant human housing growth in the entire area with their need for water wells into those same acqifiers is leading to a much lower flow of the river. In fact, in our area, the river stopped surface flow just about the end of July. There is apparently still some subsurface movement in the river channel but it is minimal. The last time this particular area has seen such surface water stoppage was during the mid 1950's diring the "drought of record." With last year's and this year's lack of significant rain we may be entering into a new record event. The sicentists will confirm that later. We are open for business; RV and tent sites are available; unfortunately, it is still just too darn hot to enjoy. We do hope you will keep us in mind and reserve a site the nest time you come to the great outdoors. We hope to see you soon.

Good morning all; spring has sprung. Around the world the Brits have a coronated King. Here we have green grass and slowly flowing river. We pray to God that we will have some good recharge rains so that the springs may continue to flow and feed the River. Peace be to all of us as we pray for the things we love and need. God's speed.........

HELLO FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. WOW has this Covid-19 thing been challenging. We know everyone has been affected by this and so have we. Virtually every spring break and Easter and all the times in between and after had to cancel their prepaid reservations. Ouch. We cannot recover from that revenue loss; however, we are looking forward to your future visits. We know that many of you have been returning year after year and some are several times a year. You will notice that we have changed our tent sites some to help insure more social distancing and separation. We have removed minimums from sites however we are going to utilize the maximums that the Governor or other competent jurisdictions may place. We want to be flexible so that your friends and families will enjoy their visits. We have been blessed with good rains this spring and the grasses are doing well. And yes some of the weeds too. For a short time RV sites may be hard to acquire but we are making available more dry camping available on our Mesa. Generators are allowed in those areas. We are working on bathhouse facilities to attempt to make them more biologically safe for everyone. Temporarily the main bathhouse is closed. Look for some outdoor showers and more hand washing and similar facilities soon. We are encouraging everyone to book on line. Go to our website at www.GuadalupeRV.com and click on reservations. We are updating terms and conditions and those will be posted on there soon. We do hope to see you soon. May God Bless you all.
