The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will begin improvements to SR-9 near Virgin, UT and Rockville, UT starting Monday, July 15, 2024. This work will improve safety through the corridor, upgrade the asphalt surface and enhance the durability of the roadway. Improvements include:
• Asphalt removal and replacement- MP 19 to MP 21 near Virgin and MP 22 to MP 25 near Rockville from July 15 to August 7, 2024. Traffic patterns will be changing during this time.
• Guardrail safety improvements in designated areas - August 2 to mid-September 2024.*
• Rockville Bridge Rehabilitation - August 2024.*
• New rumble strips, sign posts and pavement marking paint - September to October 2024.*
During asphalt paving, traffic on SR-9 will be in a one lane configuration. Motorists can expect up to a 20 minute delay in each direction. Crews will be working Monday - Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., approximately. On nights and weekends, traffic will be in a normal pattern and may be driving on uneven surfaces. It is anticipated the project will be completed by mid-October 2024.
