Broken Arrow Motel

Broken Arrow Motel Newly restored, family owned, family ran, custom, southwestern hospitality! The Broken Arrow Motel is a small, eight-room motel located in Springer, New Mexico.

The motel was purchased by Fr. Daniel M. Balizan in 1994, had not been open for more than 20+years, and had deteriorated significantly. The dream, at the time of the purchase was to one day do a total renovation and restoration to make it the most modern and comfortable motel accommodations, available for guests in Springer. After three years of hard work, the dream was finally a reality! The mote

l opened in April 2014, with a grand opening on May 25, 2014. They are proud to offer rooms with flat screen televisions, satellite channels, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, irons, ironing boards and FREE WiFi – all of these modern amenities in Springer! Renovations were completed by Fr. Daniel Balizan’s brother George Balizan, owner of G-Dan Construction, and nephew Reynaldo Balizan. Working with George was his brother Tony Balizan, George Pena, Fred Romero, along with local contractors. The support of many local businesses, as well, helped in completing the motel. This was a family venture; others involved with investing in the project were brothers, Victor Balizan and David Balizan. Diana Sanchez was on board throughout, as advisor and loan officer for the project. The motel will be managed by Fr. Daniel’s niece, Candralee Balizan, and sister in-law, Frances Balizan. Springer is located on the Santa Fe Trail at an elevation of 5,857 feet and has a population of approximately 1,700. Springer’s climate is pleasantly comfortable. Summer days are warm with cool nights and winters are moderate. Springer has been referred to as the Gateway to the Enchanted Circle, because it provides easy access to three of New Mexico’s finest ski facilities: Taos Ski Valley, Red River, and Angel Fire, which are also known for their year-round outdoor activities and attractions. Springer is also in close proximity to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, and the National Rifle Association Whittington Center, which is the largest shooting facility in the world and is located approximately 30 miles to the northwest. There are many other day trips from sight-seeing, visiting museums, mansions, fishing, hunting, and more. The Broken Arrow focuses on providing its guests with a quality lodging experience so that they can enjoy the slow road to life, and experience peace and tranquility. It offers a reprieve from the stresses of urban life and hopes to become a place for repeat customers, who will pass the word about the wonderful getaway they’ve found at The Broken Arrow Motel in Springer, New Mexico.
