Safe Sitter Babysitting Course
Safe Sitter Babysitting Course - Limited Availability (ONLY 3 SPOTS LEFT)

Springhill Medical Center will hold a Safe Sitter Babysitting Course on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 9:00am in the hospital classroom. The class is designed to prepare students in grades 6th–8th to stay safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

What to expect:
· Safety Skills
Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
· Child Care Skills
Students learn tips for managing behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn about the ages and stages of child development and will practice diapering.
· First Aid & Rescue Skills
Students learn skills such as choking rescue, CPR basics and how to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. CPR certification will not be included at this time.
· Life & Business Skills
Students learn the ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers.

Limited Availability: In order to provide a small, personalized class experience, enrollment will be limited to 6 students. More classes will be made available at a later date.

Other Information: There is no cost to participate. The course is provided by Springhill Medical Center as part of its commitment to community education. This class will last 4 to 5 hours. Small snacks and drinks will be available. Detailed times, breaks, and further instructions will be provided after registration.

This is your chance to hear from candidates in real time, in their own words, on real issues that matter to YOU.

Submit your questions at SpringhillLA.com/forum . Submitted questions are reviewed by Chamber Staff and Executive Board of Directors and a selection will be posed to candidates live on stage. Deadline to submit: September 23, 2026.
