In May I planted mostly tomato plants in the raised beds like a reasonable person.

In August I have a tomato situation. There is no version of this where I eat all of them. Guests are getting tomatoes at breakfast. Guests are getting tomatoes to take home.

If you booked a room in August, you know about the tomatoes! There are still more!!

I raised six kids with one bathroom.

Now I own a nine-room Victorian with fourteen.
Nobody passes each other in the halls anymore. Nobody knocks. Nobody yells “I’m almost done” through a door.

After all those years of waiting my turn, I bought a house where everyone gets their own.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think where you sleep should be part of the trip.

Fresh baked cookies. Breakfast made from scratch every morning. A wraparound porch, an English garden, a gazebo, and a pond. A house that was somebody’s home long before it was a business - and it still feels like one.

I don’t have a skincare routine to show. This is my daily routine - prepping breakfast for up to 20 guests.

Sourdough, grits, coffee, and quiet before the first guest comes down. Every day starts here.

The front walkway had been sinking for a while. This week I pulled it up, releveled the base, and reset the pavers. Took two days and a lot of sand. At fifty I bought a 1905 Victorian, and it turns out I can fix most of what it throws at me. Come see it in person - we’re 60 minutes from New York City.
