We are sad to share that this year's Freedom Celebration has been canceled.
This was not an easy decision, and we sincerely apologize to everyone who has supported, planned for, sponsored, participated in, or looked forward to this event.
Over the past several weeks, Big Water Marina has experienced some significant changes behind the scenes. After a great deal of thought and consideration, we came to the difficult conclusion that we wouldn't be able to put on the Freedom Celebration in the way our community has come to know and love.
We know this event means a lot to so many people. For years, it's brought together families, friends, vendors, campers, boaters, and visitors from all over to celebrate on Lake Hartwell. We share in your disappointment and are truly heartbroken to make this announcement.
We've personally reached out to those most directly involved with the event, and we're already exploring other ways to celebrate with our community this summer. We hope to have more details to share soon.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and the memories you've helped create over the years. While we won't be gathering for the Freedom Celebration this June, we're hopeful for what lies ahead and look forward to bringing this tradition back—bigger and better than ever—in 2027.
