It was not ideally designed right. It could not handle severe flooding. In December 2025, another big flood wiped 3/4 of this bridge. Once again, it was filled with gravel, it is temporary. We need to change to a permanent well-built bridge across.”

Sara signing “To build the bridge cost one million dollars. A project formed called Create Bridge, Create Adventure. I request you to donate and to share and host a fundraising event. Camp Taloali wants you and we work together for our future Deaf and Hard of Hearing youths, children, families, and others to gather here and make memories”

Happy May 4th — May the Force be with you! ✨
Here’s your Star Wars in ASL lesson featuring signs for Jedi, Yoda, Lightsaber, and more. Inspired by The Sign Polyglot on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpMjOurRz9c

FYI: These signs aren’t official, they were created by fans! That’s the amazing thing about ASL: we can invent new signs for specific concepts as our world expands.

ID: A space-themed graphic titled "Star Wars in ASL" shows illustrated ASL signs for Star Wars, Yoda, Millennium Falcon, Lightsaber, Darth Vader, and Jedi, with small matching character or object images next to each sign. Designed by 58 Creativity.

Happy Star Wars Day

May the Force be with you, Oregon Deaf Community.

Today we celebrate connection, community, and the power we hold together. Just like the Force, our strength comes from unity, shared language, and collective resilience.

Hello everybody! Those who have been supporting Camp Taloali for long time, and those who are new with us, today is the last day to register for 3K at $25 and the shirt isn’t included. Tomorrow, if you show up at door (you are welcome to do so), it will be $35. I hope you will pay $25 to save yourself $10. Maybe you have a big heart by showing up tomorrow and pay $35. If you want to support Camp Taloali but could not attend, feel free to donate. Those monies will go toward for kids for the summer camp and to reduce the cost for them to attend. Hey, we need your help! But first I want to explain something.

In 1996, the river swell and flooded Camp Taloali. The river rose to historic 13.40 feet! The river reached all the way to administration office, destroyed the bridge, and destroyed some of the buildings.

Army corp of engineering came and installed the levee by the river, fixed the bridge by adding new culverts in, and all looks good for a good a while.

In Dec 19, 2025, the flood came back and hit Camp Taloali again. The river rose to 12.11 feet, oh my!

The bridge got partially washed out leaving a hole. The riverbank got flooded the most but the levee helped and prevent further damages. If it wasn’t for levee, the river would flood Camp Taloali again. Thanks to levee for saving the Camp! Whew!

So we need your help, clean all around. Look at pictures!
