Keeping the Ski Town, USA® legacy alive in the summer.
Before skiers land a new trick on snow, they usually land it on water first. The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club water ramp and trampoline facility has helped produce over 100 Olympians, and 7 of the 8 U.S. moguls athletes at the 2026 Winter Games trained there. The facility is being retired, but the community stepped in so the next generation has the same shot. Now, Steamboat Resort has donated land at the base of the Park Smalley Freestyle Complex for a brand new training facility, beginning construction this summer.
And on the bike side: The Cycle Effect is giving local girls a 5-week downhill program coached by Steamboat Bike Park's female coaches, with all the gear provided. Girls gain confidence week after week as the barriers to downhill mountain biking are broken down — creating a space of belonging in a full-face helmet.
Confidence built one ride at a time. Whether it's water ramps or mountain bike trails, these are the moments that shape our hometown athletes for life. Read more about the story on our blog: https://bit.ly/3Ug5NWU
