Wildwood's Newsletter:
30 Days To Go
Good Morning, Everyone.
I know it's hard to believe, but Tom Rush is only 30 days.
This marks the 27th Fall Concert Series in full swing. Hard to believe. A lifetime!
The Great news is that ticket sales are back in full force. It's funny how things can be sometimes.
Big News…
1. Ticket sales for the Tom Rush and Blood Brothers shows are lower. Both will be fantastic shows. The Blood Brothers, which most of you have never heard of, are Mike and Albert, who rarely play together as the Blood Brothers. This is a very rare Blues Show. And it is NOT expensive, so I would encourage you to check both of these shows out.
2. I just heard from Ricky this morning; he and the Band are really looking forward to his Wildwood Show. He absolutely loves playing at Wildwood and having that Prime Rib.
Ricky has only 65 tickets left.
Rock the Dock is down to 75 tickets left.
OMD Saturday night is down to 9 tickets left.
Yonder is starting to pick up; lots of tickets are available.
3. There have only been 403 survey results. Out of 12,500 requests. If you can, please fill out the Survey. I do appreciate and consider the Results and Suggestions deeply.
Here is an example. This is an anonymous comment.
"We like most of these bands a lot; however, we’ve tried to purchase tickets to
your shows several times in the last 4 years or so. There is no way we can afford
concert tickets that literally cost hundreds of dollars apiece. A neighbor told us
they attended a concert at your place for a far more reasonable $35 or so.
WHERE can we purchase tickets for your shows? Every time I’ve looked, it’s
hundreds of $$. We will never attend a concert for that much. "
Yes. I know the Ticket Prices are expensive; travel costs, agency costs, band costs, hotel costs, etc! However, there are a few shows that I have produced with Much Cheaper Ticket prices.
Wildwood Stock #2, the Base price was only 35.00. Like your neighbor said. Tom Rush and Blood Brothers are very affordable. Yonder Mountain starts at only $35.00 as well.
I do read all the Suggestions.
Here is my offer to Everyone. If you are on a budget, or truly cannot afford a ticket, I will make 10 concert-only tickets available for free for each concert. Just contact Katie at 573-775-2400 to ask. Or email her.
Wildwood is a special place; greed is not in the Grand Old Lady—she loves everyone.
Music is universal. It heals us.
I am really looking forward to this fall. Please tell your friends... and kids!!!
My Story.
I was able to go for a walk this week; it felt wonderful. It was early morning, sunny, and cool. I had walked so far and decided to turn around and head back home; I didn't want to push my knee too much. Just as I turned around, I caught a leaf falling from the tree—not an unusual thing in Nature, happens every day, all day long. But this one was different.
This leaf was spinning, spinning, spinning from the beginning to its final resting place. I stopped walking and just watched it; I was in Awe.
I thought to myself, What if this leaf had feeling? I was imagining how it might have felt. Was it singing "Hallelujah" on its trip down to earth..? Was it singing "I Will Always Love You"? As Dolly would have sung it. It was alive and then just dropped from a tree, as all leaves do eventually. The Spinning was in perfect form. Just spinning down to earth.
Life is so wonderful, Love is so powerful, and pain can hurt—I know all too well.
Nature is so beautiful; we will start to see the colors soon, I hope. With all the moisture we have had here locally, maybe we will get to see a Fall Color scheme we have not seen for years. I hope so. I love Color and plan on getting back out into my woods, my 100 Acre Woods, this fall to walk the Trails. (They need cleaning out)
If you get a chance today, listen to Dolly's Words.
I love you all..
Bob
