Stephenville Athletics is proud to introduce:
SKYE, our💛 2026 Heart of Gold.
Skye's mom recently shared her story with us and was touched to learn Skye would be honored in such a special way. Here's what Skye's mom, April shared:
Skyelar “Skye” was born in March of 2016 with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, 2 different versions of scoliosis and several other congenital birth defects and abnormalities. Since then, she has also been diagnosed with a cyst in her upper spine that can cause other difficulties if it grows. Skye stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks, where she underwent 2 surgeries in just her first week of life. She was sent home with a label of Failure to Thrive, on hospice and a life expectancy of 10 weeks.
But Skye has surpassed all those labels and is currently NOT on hospice and living her life to the fullest.
She has had numerous surgeries including two since the beginning of this year.
Skye is currently dealing with a broken femur due to decreased bone density that kept her out of school and in bed for two weeks. Skye is a social butterfly and life of the party, so being home for those weeks was rough for her. Even still, she has kept a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Skye has had a rough go at things, and will no doubt have more mountains to climb, but she brings life, joy and light to everyone around her. Truly - Skye has a Heart of Gold.
💛 Skye will be honored at the Yellow Jackets Football game on October 9, 2026.
T-Shirt sales are underway to support 💛TEAM SKYE💛.
