Teddy went on a guided Discovery Hike with some of the volunteers a couple weeks ago. He learned about some of the plants along the trail as well as listened to stories told by Bill, one of the visitor center hosts. Discovery hikes are a great way to get out on the refuge and hike new trails, make new friends and hike with a group! Tomorrow's hike is at Bear Mountain at 10am (meet at the trailhead mile marker 6 Skilak Lake Road). If you are interested in joining a guided hike, stop by the visitor center (or call 907-260-2820) or check our monthly flyer to learn where the next one will be.
